Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is accountable to the OR Charge Nurse and the Director of Surgical Services, with indirect accountability to the House Supervisor. The RN is responsible for delivering both direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative environment through the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for patients across all age groups.

  • Coordinate patient care with the surgical team, including the surgeon and anesthesiologist, while directing and guiding the OR Technician and other staff to uphold professional nursing standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless continuum of care and maintain efficient patient flow and unit organization.
  • Adhere to regulations, standards, and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Participate in Performance Improvement initiatives, unit meetings, and in-service training.
  • Act as a resource for other personnel as appropriate.

The ideal candidate is an experienced OR Circulator with a positive attitude and a commitment to serving underserved populations.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

1. Current and valid state RN License.
2. Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintain current status.
3. Current ACLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintain current status.
4. Current PALS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintain current status.
5. Minimum of one year of previous perioperative experience or on-the-job training.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN).
2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Pay Range: $40.80 to $67.05.

The exact starting compensation will be determined at the time of hiring, considering various factors such as skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
