Role Summary:

Lockheed Martin's Rotary and Mission Systems' Training and Logistics Solutions (TLS) division is recognized as the leading provider of training and logistics products and services for military and international clients.

Located in Orlando, TLS is dedicated to creating programs that equip service members with the essential skills required for executing complex missions, including operating advanced fighter aircraft, navigating naval vessels, and managing armored vehicles.


Key Responsibilities:

This role is focused on the Systems IT Engineer position within the F35 Pilot Training Devices (PTD) team, which is part of the Operational Baseline Integrated Product Team (IPT).

As a vital contributor to our Systems IT team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring system integrity, availability, and cybersecurity compliance for networked systems.
  • Assisting in the design, integration, implementation, and support of solutions across system components.
  • Providing guidance and management for hardware, including diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance across various architectures.
  • Developing, evaluating, and testing system requirements.
  • Implementing changes to the operational baseline, including updates to operating systems and third-party software, switch configurations, and hardware compatibility.
  • Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting new systems at client locations.
  • Creating and maintaining system design and process documentation.
  • Collaborating with program personnel and participating in cross-functional Agile teams.

Team Overview:

The Pilot Training Devices (PTD) team specializes in the development of flight simulators for the F35 fighter jet. The Operational Baseline Integrated Product Team is tasked with overseeing the infrastructure, third-party software, and security protocols for all PTD products.


Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will excel in a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment and demonstrate a commitment to delivering top-tier products and solutions.

This position necessitates that the selected individual possess or be able to obtain an Interim Secret level U.S. government security clearance prior to commencing employment, along with a Special Access Program clearance within a reasonable timeframe thereafter. U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite for consideration.


Qualifications:

A level 3 employee typically possesses 3 to 5+ years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Eligibility to obtain DoD Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree.
  • Experience in Linux Server Administration (RedHat and SLES).
  • Familiarity with Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems.

Desired Skills:

  • DoD IAT Level II certification (e.g., Sec+ CE).
  • Knowledge of information systems networking.
  • Prior experience in requirements and verification processes.
  • Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Windows PowerShell, Linux shell scripting).
  • Experience with VMWare/ESXi, VSphere, and Hyper-V for automated configurations and updates.
  • Familiarity with Excel, Agile methodologies, and the Atlassian tool suite (JIRA/Confluence).
  • Experience with IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM).

Security Clearance Requirement:

This position necessitates a government security clearance; U.S. Citizenship is required for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years.

This role offers a part-time remote work schedule, with specific arrangements to be discussed during the hiring process.
