Position Overview: As a Manufacturing Engineer at Lockheed Martin, you will be engaged in the intricate task of converting sophisticated engineering schematics and component lists into comprehensive, user-friendly work instructions for assembly personnel on the production line.

Key Responsibilities: You will be challenged to enhance the overall manufacturing process by leveraging state-of-the-art technologies and automation techniques. Your role will involve:

  • Utilizing your technical expertise to address complex issues through troubleshooting and the development of new manufacturing processes.
  • Participating in Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) initiatives and Lean Six Sigma projects aimed at improving operational efficiency.
  • Creating process enhancements that reduce costs, elevate quality, and ensure a faster, more reliable product delivery.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience, with a minimum of two years in a professional setting; or no experience required with a related Master’s degree.
  • Two or more years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Proficiency in interpreting complex engineering drawings and specifications.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a Secret security clearance.

Preferred Skills:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing context.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Access, Word, Excel).
  • Experience with CREO/ProE, particularly in tooling and transitioning concepts to final designs.
  • Proven ability in troubleshooting and developing effective solutions.
  • Experience in process development and automation methodologies.
  • Ability to draft clear technical work instructions.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Familiarity with SAP systems.
  • Understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles and practices.

Security Clearance Requirement: This role necessitates a government security clearance; candidates must be U.S. citizens.

Work Environment: This position requires onsite work at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedule: Lockheed Martin offers various flexible work schedules, including options for condensed workweeks.
