Job Overview

Position Summary

nFocus Solutions is in search of a Lead Systems Engineer to spearhead technical guidance and systems engineering for the advancement of cutting-edge military training solutions tailored for the Army and Marine Corps. The focus will be on the architecture, development, integration, and implementation of Live Virtual Constructive training systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement solutions that fulfill client specifications and technical performance while adhering to project timelines and budgetary limits.
  • Provide strategic technical oversight for interdisciplinary engineering teams on significant programs and initiatives from inception to successful completion.
  • Assist in the formulation of system architecture, design specifications, and interface development.
  • Participate in critical milestone assessments throughout the product development cycle, including System Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), Test Readiness Review (TRR), and Government Acceptance Testing (GAT).
  • Contribute to the establishment of laboratory infrastructure to facilitate product demonstrations and preparatory runs for site implementations.
  • Conduct site assessments to document designs and formulate installation strategies.
  • Willingness to travel to client locations for installation, testing, troubleshooting, and requirements validation with end users.
  • Employ established best practice engineering methodologies throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Design and evaluate systems and equipment, including computational, network, and mechanical/electrical interfaces.
  • Conduct trade-off analyses and feasibility studies on system components such as vendor products, Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) items, Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), specifications, and manuals to assess design viability and applicability.
  • Lead requirements analysis, establish system requirements, and derive specifications for subordinate subsystems, elements, and components.
  • Actively engage in technical interchange meetings to collaborate with other teams and client representatives.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience is necessary.
  • Familiarity with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and Army Live Training Product Line (CTIA, LT2) is preferred.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Eligibility to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is mandatory.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of work conducted within our facilities.
