About the Role:
Our esteemed client is in search of a skilled Network Engineer to join their team. Below are the key details of the position:
Contract Details:
- Duration: 3-6+ months, with potential for extension or permanent placement based on performance.
- Location: Onsite.
- Background checks and drug screening are mandatory.
The selected candidate will play a crucial role in delivering network services, collaborating with teams that directly support the managed network services.
As part of this role, you will benefit from the support of a proficient team of technical managers and engineers. Additionally, you will have access to a project management office, network operations center, strategy and architecture teams, as well as tools for network monitoring, reporting, asset management, and billing support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage the client’s LAN network, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of LAN design, MPLS, and integration with Service Provider/Carrier networks, including Logical Overlay Networks and VRFs.
Specific Duties Include:
- Configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting various Cisco routers and switches.
- Monitoring incident queues and executing necessary network changes outside of standard business hours.
- Opening and managing TAC cases with vendors as needed.
- Complying with all change control processes and configuration standards.
- Participating in meetings and conducting troubleshooting sessions with peers, vendors, and customers.
- Ensuring timely and effective communication with customers.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience as a network engineer in implementing, designing, supporting, and maintaining large enterprise networks.
- Advanced knowledge of routing protocols such as ISIS, EIGRP, OSPF, Multicast, and QOS.
- Expertise in LAN technologies including HSRP, STP, VLANs, and IP subnetting.
- Familiarity with Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, IOS-XR, and NX-OS.
- Understanding of IPV6 implementation and network automation tools (Ansible, Python, etc.) is advantageous.
- Solid knowledge of network cabling infrastructure and specifications.
- Experience with corporate change management procedures.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are required; CCIE or passing the written exam is a plus.
- A degree in a related field is preferred.
Position Requirements:
- Must be a proactive contributor and a team player, capable of mentoring peers.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong technical acumen in corporate network infrastructures, with the ability to communicate and teach technologies at a technical level.
Your expertise will be essential for significant planning, incident resolution, and communication with clients.

- Ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Effective communication skills to articulate challenges to executives.
- Capability to develop action plans and oversee their execution.
