Job Overview

Position Summary

nFocus Solutions is on the lookout for a Senior Systems Engineer to spearhead technical direction and systems engineering for the advancement of our cutting-edge military training product line, specifically for the Army and Marines. The primary focus will be on the design, development, integration, and deployment of Live Virtual Constructive training solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Craft solutions that align with customer specifications and technical performance, while adhering to project timelines and budgetary limits.
  • Provide technical guidance to multi-disciplinary engineering teams throughout significant programs and projects from initiation to successful completion.
  • Assist in the formulation of system architecture, system design, and interface development.
  • Participate in major milestone assessments within the product development lifecycle, including SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and GAT.
  • Contribute to the establishment of lab infrastructure to facilitate product demonstrations and preparatory runs for site deployments.
  • Conduct site surveys to document designs and installation strategies.
  • Travel to client locations to execute installation, testing, troubleshooting, and requirements validation with end users.
  • Implement established best practice engineering methodologies throughout the engineering development lifecycle.
  • Design and evaluate systems and equipment, focusing on computational, network, and mechanical/electrical interfaces.
  • Conduct trade and feasibility studies on system components, including vendor products, COTS components, GFE/CFE, specifications, and manuals to assess design viability.
  • Lead requirements analysis, develop system requirements, and derive specifications for subordinate subsystems, elements, and components.
  • Actively engage in technical interchange meetings to collaborate with other teams and client representatives.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience is necessary.
  • Familiarity with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and the Army Live Training Product Line (CTIA, LT2) is preferred.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Eligibility to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is mandatory.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of work performed within our facilities.
