Position OverviewRole Summary

The Senior IT Systems Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the Hardware Team within the Joint Program Office (JPO) Maintenance Systems Program Management Office (MxS PMO). This position involves providing strategic recommendations regarding hardware enhancements and assessing the feasibility of installations at both new and existing sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Offer expert guidance to the PMO on hardware upgrades and installations.
  • Manage and monitor hardware procurement processes and delivery schedules.
  • Engage in collaborative efforts within strike teams and working groups to determine optimal strategies.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of user requirements to identify problems, data availability, reporting needs, and system design challenges.
  • Establish system objectives and draft design specifications that align with user needs and address interface issues.
  • Evaluate alternative methods for data input to identify the most accurate and cost-effective solutions.
  • Specify input and output file requirements, including organization and structure.
  • Develop controls, conversion procedures, and implementation plans, including user training and orientation.
Essential Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field with a minimum of five years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with three years of applicable experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply complex technical knowledge and professional practices.
  • Proven leadership capabilities, along with strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective short-term and long-term planning abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with F-35 ground support equipment Information Systems (IS), including:
    • Technical specifications of current PMA laptops, PMD Readers, SOUv2, MPE, etc.
    • Knowledge of the ALIS-to-ODIN hardware transition.
  • Current experience in ALIS administration and support.
  • Familiarity with the establishment and deployment of IT equipment in various DoD environments.
  • Understanding of cost, scheduling, and contracting constraints related to IT equipment procurement and installation in the DoD.
Security Clearance Requirement:
This position requires U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a U.S. government security clearance at the Secret level.
