Compensation and Benefits

The total compensation package includes a competitive salary of $66,560 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package that starts on the first day of the month following your hire date. Benefits include:

Key Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Assistant Director, the Area Supervisor will:

  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures related to Head Start and Early Head Start programs.
  • Coordinate services for children and families, aligning with educational and operational standards.
  • Supervise Center Directors and Lead Primary Caregivers, providing support and training.
  • Oversee daily site operations, ensuring high-quality educational experiences.
  • Facilitate effective communication between home and school environments.
  • Monitor compliance with child protection laws and program policies.
  • Participate in the hiring, training, and performance evaluation of staff.
  • Collaborate with educational institutions to ensure smooth transitions for children.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess program quality and provide feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality in all operations.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of child development principles and adult learning theories.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including word processing and email.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English is preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and low-income families.

Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  2. Minimum of three years of experience in early childhood education and supervision.

Work Environment

The work environment is dynamic, with occasional outdoor conditions and moderate noise levels. The role requires physical activity, including lifting and moving objects, and maintaining a safe environment for children.
