Position Summary

This role is pivotal in aligning PG&E's operational vision by enhancing service quality and expanding capabilities through the development and deployment of infrastructure and essential business applications. The position involves implementing innovative technologies, optimizing costs, boosting productivity, and enhancing organizational effectiveness through enabling technologies. The supervisor will lead teams engaged in the development, design, testing, implementation, maintenance, support, and operation of PG&E's systems infrastructure. Strong organizational skills are essential to manage competing priorities effectively.

This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing for remote work combined with attendance at the designated work location as required by business needs.

PG&E provides a salary range that reflects the company's good faith estimate for this position at the time of posting. This range is specific to the job's locality, and actual compensation will be determined based on various factors, including skills, education, certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. This role is also eligible for PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs. While the successful candidate is likely to be positioned towards the midpoint or entry level of the range, final decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis considering these factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $128,000.00
Bay Area Maximum: $218,000.00

OR

California Minimum: $122,000.00
California Maximum: $207,000.00

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive results through effective leadership by establishing and communicating objectives and metrics, tracking progress, providing continuous coaching and feedback, and reinforcing high-performance behaviors.
  • Advocate for the infrastructure needs essential for executing the IT portfolio.
  • Continuously assess emerging tools and technologies to ensure the most suitable options are proposed and implemented.
  • Develop and manage meaningful metrics to showcase the team's efficiency and effectiveness on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Foster relationships across the IT department to enhance collaboration and communication.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of infrastructure components, monitoring, and processes.
  • Ensure the right personnel are assigned to each project or program.
  • Guarantee compliance with standards, regulations, and governance processes.
  • Create Development Plans for Apprentices.
  • Collaborate effectively across functions, building strong relationships and partnerships.
  • Monitor program outcomes against technical specifications.
  • Provide performance feedback and guidance to team members.
  • Oversee a team of skilled telecom technicians represented by IBEW.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management or IT-Information Technology.

Desired:

  • Journeyman certification in Communication Technician or Telecommunication Technician certification.
  • Master's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in the utility industry, particularly in regulated environments.
  • Lean Certification.
  • ITIL-Information Technology Infrastructure Library Practitioner certification.
  • ITIL-Information Technology Infrastructure Library Manager certification.
