Position Overview:

The role involves providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities, participating as part of an interdisciplinary team for clinical consultations with case managers, supervising interns, directing special projects, and offering community education.

Responsibilities:

Under the general administrative direction of the Intake Department Manager, the position entails providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities, participating in interdisciplinary team consultations, supervising interns, directing special projects, and developing enhanced clinical resources. Responsibilities also include assisting in reviewing and coding the CDER for psychiatric and medical diagnoses and aiding Service Coordinators with forensic issues, including writing and reviewing court reports.

Key Duties:

- Conduct direct psychometric testing and psychological evaluations of clients or assess existing evaluations to determine eligibility for regional center services.

- Provide consultation to case managers and clinical staff regarding the psychological aspects of developmental disabilities.

- Participate in the interdisciplinary team client evaluation and planning process.

- Offer consultation to staff, clients, and their families concerning the client's psychological status, progress, and needs.

- Engage in in-service training and community education programs to address educational needs regarding the psychological aspects of developmental disabilities.

- Monitor and review programs at behaviorally-oriented facilities as requested.

Qualifications:

- Ph.D. or Doctorate in Psychology, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in testing and diagnostic evaluation of individuals with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, or emotional disorders.

- Alternatively, a Ph.D. or Doctorate in Psychology with 3 years of case management or clinical experience at North Bay Regional Center.

- Preference will be given to psychologists licensed through the Board of Medical Examiners.

- Minimum qualifications may be waived based on the agency's need for specialized skills, such as language abilities.

Knowledge and Skills:

- In-depth knowledge of clinical psychology, mental hygiene, and personality development.

- Proficiency in administering and interpreting diagnostic psychological tests.

- Understanding of research design, statistics, and measurement theory.

- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

- Knowledge of child development, learning theory, psychopathology, and behavior modification.

Special Requirements:

- A valid driver's license and minimum legal automobile insurance are required.

- Ability to provide personal automobile transportation during working hours and for after-hours emergencies.
