Compensation and Benefits

The total compensation package includes a competitive salary of $66,560 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package that begins on the first day of the month following your hire date. Benefits include:

Key Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Assistant Director, the Area Supervisor will ensure compliance with all policies and procedures across service areas for the Head Start and Early Head Start programs. Responsibilities include:

  • Participating in supervisory team planning and program operations
  • Supporting Center Directors and Lead Primary Caregivers in resolving operational issues
  • Overseeing daily site operations and ensuring high-quality parent engagement activities
  • Monitoring compliance with California Child Abuse and Neglect laws
  • Conducting staff training and performance evaluations
  • Collaborating with educational institutions for smooth transitions to Kindergarten
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring confidentiality
  • Coordinating with community agencies to enhance service delivery
Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of child development principles and adult learning styles
  • Understanding of bilingual and multicultural education
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to analyze and interpret regulations and procedures
  • Experience in supervision and classroom management

Education:

  1. BA or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
  2. Three years of experience in preschool or infant/toddler settings
Work Environment

The work environment is representative of those encountered while performing essential job functions. Employees may occasionally work outdoors and are expected to manage moderate noise levels.

Physical Demands

Employees must be able to perform essential functions, which may include lifting up to 50 pounds and maintaining a working knowledge of program plans and policies.
