Position Overview
We are in search of an enthusiastic professional to join our Aquatics Department in the role of Aquatic Programs Supervisor.

Role Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Chief Operating Officer, the Aquatic Programs Supervisor will be tasked with the development, management, and oversight of all swimming initiatives. This role is crucial in ensuring that all programs operate efficiently while providing a safe and enriching experience for participants. The Supervisor will also serve as a key leader and a positive liaison for all individuals involved in the programs.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma and at least two years of experience in swim instruction
  • Valid CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications
  • Current YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certifications or WSI from the American Red Cross
  • Lifeguard certification is advantageous
  • Completion of child abuse prevention training within 30 days of employment
  • Ability to maintain physical and mental readiness at certification levels
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others
  • Proficiency in computer applications is necessary
  • Must embody the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility
Key Duties
  • Development and assessment of swim lesson programs
  • Planning and implementation of future aquatic initiatives
  • Recruitment, training, scheduling, and supervision of all instructors
  • Management of Safety Around Water and Healthy Kids Day programs
  • Collaboration and partnership with external organizations
  • Oversight of program registration, marketing, and ensuring maximum participation
  • Guarantee that each participant completes a skill evaluation and receives a certificate after each swim session.
Required Certifications
  • Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications
  • Current YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certifications or WSI from the American Red Cross
  • Lifeguard certification is preferred
