About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Representative to join our team at Weedmaps. As a Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for finding and developing new business opportunities in the cannabis industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market
  • Enhance the potential client contact lists through industry association lists, and online data searches
  • Contact potential clients through cold calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, etc.
  • Identify client needs and suggest appropriate products/services
  • Present Weedmaps offerings at a high level to potential clients
  • Consistent documentation of conversations with prospective customers - Why are they qualified? Why are they not qualified?
  • Set up meetings or calls between (prospective) clients and Account Executives
  • Engage Account Executives for next steps, providing detailed information for the rep and a smooth transition for the customer
  • Continue to follow-up with prospects until qualification is complete
  • Report to the leadership on (weekly/monthly/quarterly) sales results
  • Stay up-to-date with new products/services and new pricing/payment plans
Requirements
  • Proven work experience as a Business Development Representative, Sales Account Executive, or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls)
  • Track record of achieving sales quotas
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Familiarity with Google Spreadsheets
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Ability to deliver engaging presentations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer one year of business development experience
  • Professional, philanthropic, and/or community-based cannabis experience is a plus
