Position Summary

The Quality Control Analytical Specialist will play a vital role in supporting the Production and R&D teams at SD.

Your Impact

Utilize your analytical expertise to deliver high-quality catalyst and material characterization solutions. This role will emphasize the development of methods, execution, and coordination of surface analysis within the catalyst development teams and with external collaborators. Characterization techniques will include SEM, TEM, XPS, Chemisorption, TPD, TGA/DSC, among others, with necessary collaborations with academic institutions and research organizations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical instruments such as ICP, AA, XRF, and Titrators in a dynamic laboratory setting. (Knowledge of ICP-OES is advantageous).
  • Conduct analytical procedures including ICP, AA, XRF, acid digestion, and titration to support quality control and assurance analyses by adhering to established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist in the development and validation of new analytical methodologies, establish new SOPs based on various instruments, and ensure analytical methods are rigorously tested for reliability with minimal supervision.
  • Review and update outdated wet chemistry methods, and develop new methods from inception to laboratory validation and documentation following ASTM standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
  • Be prepared to work 12-hour shifts if required.

  • Experience in a petrochemical laboratory environment is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and oral.
