POSITION SUMMARY: Sensus is seeking a Territory Sales Specialist to oversee the promotion and sale of Sensus Life Sciences and SI Analytics products and services within a designated area, meeting specific sales targets. This role serves as the liaison between the company and its clients, engaging in all sales and post-sales activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Generate orders from current and prospective clients through on-site visits and communication via phone or email.
- Maintain a proactive schedule for client engagement and follow-up.
- Build and nurture professional relationships with key personnel at client organizations.
- Provide weekly reports detailing customer interactions, quotes, orders, and any issues related to vendor relationships.
- Conduct equipment demonstrations as necessary and ensure the safekeeping of demonstration tools.
- Accurately forecast monthly sales to project current and future business needs.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to achieve or exceed territory growth targets.
- Gather and relay competitive intelligence to management, including insights on competitors’ sales methods, product strengths, and weaknesses.
- Perform administrative tasks such as maintaining client records in the company CRM, submitting expense reports promptly, and preparing strategic business plans for territory coverage.
- Complete daily timesheets and maintain open communication with supervisors and other internal teams.
- Travel 40-50% of the time to meet sales goals and objectives.
- Uphold a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Engage in local market associations to integrate into the customer community.
- Develop and sustain positive relationships with business partners.
- Utilize corporate resources effectively to maximize investment returns.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field.
- A minimum of three years of experience in analytical equipment sales.
- General knowledge or experience in wet chemistry and organic chemistry is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and self-motivation are essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- In-depth understanding of the sales process and the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of applying basic algebra and metric system concepts.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This role may require regular communication, manual dexterity, and the ability to walk, sit, stand, and drive for extended periods. Occasionally, lifting or moving items up to 100 lbs may be necessary. Vision or corrected vision for close, distance, and peripheral sight is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this position, employees may encounter moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and various chemicals. Noise levels in the work environment may vary from moderate to high.
