Job Overview


The Senior Accountant for Financial Reporting will undertake a variety of responsibilities associated with the financial reporting cycle for F & G Services Inc. and its subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities

1. **Preparation and Review**: Develop and evaluate the Statutory financial statement reporting packages as assigned, including all relevant footnotes, schedules, and analyses.
2. **Data Analysis**: Utilize reporting tools to extract information from the general ledger (Oracle) and/or financial data warehouse to assist with reporting, reconciliation, and analytical tasks.
3. **Journal Entries and Reconciliations**: Prepare or review journal entries and account reconciliations, including necessary supporting analyses.
4. **Process Improvement**: Identify opportunities for enhancing processes and internal controls.
5. **Compliance Support**: Aid in maintaining compliance with internal control procedures and documentation.
6. **Audit Assistance**: Support both internal and external audit processes.
7. **Continuous Improvement**: Actively pursue opportunities for process enhancements, including automation, and provide actionable recommendations.
8. **Ad Hoc Projects**: Assist with special projects and other tasks related to Statutory financial reporting and analysis as needed.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA certification or in progress is preferred
- Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience in a complex accounting environment
- Experience in statutory insurance is highly desirable
- Background in Big Four accounting firms is a plus

- Proficient in computer applications, particularly financial client-server packages
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Highly motivated with a demonstrated ability to take initiative
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively with professionals at all levels
- Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of key data
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks/projects effectively to meet critical deadlines
