Role Summary:

The primary responsibility of this position is to cultivate and expand independent account business, focusing on overall profitability through both new customer acquisition and deeper engagement with existing accounts. This role involves promoting and selling company-branded products to achieve sales targets. Additionally, it may include supporting customer service initiatives for regional and national chain clients, enhancing the company's visibility in the market and maximizing market share. The individual will function as a collaborative team member within the department and organization, performing any assigned duties to best serve the company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drives additional business by assessing sales territories and individual client needs; samples products with current and prospective clients; devises comprehensive sales strategies including time and territory management; customizes sales approaches for individual clients; and delivers impactful sales presentations.
  • Increases sales and profit margins consistently to meet established targets.
  • Establishes new customer accounts by determining pricing structures; collaborates with the Credit Department for initial approvals; coordinates with other personnel for order-taking, deliveries, etc. Conducts initial follow-ups with clients to ensure satisfaction with delivery and product quality.
  • Ensures client satisfaction by providing exceptional service, collaborating closely with other personnel to address and resolve client issues. May be responsible for making deliveries in urgent situations.
  • Enhances business with existing clients through product penetration to maximize account profitability.
  • Reduces accounts receivable challenges by monitoring compliance with credit terms and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Maintains awareness of pricing trends within the sales territory, particularly for market-driven or commodity products, to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent

24 months of experience in sales/marketing and/or the restaurant industry

Valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Sales/Marketing, or a related field

3-5 years of experience in foodservice sales/marketing and/or the restaurant sector
