This position is accountable for developing independent account business, focusing on overall profitability through both new sales initiatives and deepening existing customer relationships. The role involves promoting and selling company-branded products to achieve sales targets. Additionally, it may include supporting customer service functions for regional and national chain clients, enhancing the company's visibility in the market and maximizing market share. The individual will work collaboratively within the department and organization, fulfilling any assigned duties to best serve the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identifies and generates new business by analyzing sales territories and individual customer needs; samples products with both existing and prospective clients; formulates comprehensive sales strategies, including time and territory management; develops tailored sales approaches for individual customers; and delivers impactful sales presentations.
- Continuously increases sales and profit margins to meet predefined sales and margin objectives.
- Establishes new customer accounts by determining pricing structures; collaborates with the Credit Department for initial approvals; coordinates with other personnel for order processing, deliveries, etc. Conducts initial follow-ups with customers to ensure satisfaction with delivery and product quality.
- Ensures high levels of customer satisfaction by providing exceptional service, working closely with other team members to address and resolve customer issues. May be responsible for making deliveries in urgent situations.
- Enhances business with current clients through product penetration strategies to maximize account profitability.
- Reduces accounts receivable challenges by monitoring compliance with credit terms and proactively addressing any issues.
- Maintains awareness of pricing trends within the sales territory, particularly for market-driven and commodity products, to ensure competitive pricing.
- Performs additional related duties as assigned.
High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
24 months of experience in sales/marketing and/or the restaurant industry
Valid Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Sales/Marketing, or a related field
3-5 years of experience in foodservice sales/marketing and/or the restaurant sector
