The Area Manager is accountable for cultivating independent account business, focusing on overall profitability through both new client acquisition and existing account growth. This role involves promoting and selling company-branded products to achieve sales targets. Additionally, the Area Manager may assist with customer service initiatives for regional and national chain clients, enhancing the company's visibility in the market and maximizing market share. The position requires collaboration within the department and organization, fulfilling any assigned duties to best serve the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identifies new business opportunities by analyzing sales territories and individual client needs; samples products with current and prospective clients; develops comprehensive sales strategies, including time and territory management; customizes sales approaches for individual clients; and delivers impactful sales presentations.
- Continuously increases sales and profit margins to meet established targets.
- Establishes new client accounts by determining pricing structures; collaborates with the Credit Department for initial approvals; coordinates with other personnel for order-taking and delivery scheduling. Conducts initial follow-ups with clients to ensure satisfaction with deliveries and products.
- Ensures exceptional customer service by closely collaborating with other personnel to address and resolve client issues. May be required to make deliveries in urgent situations.
- Enhances business with existing clients through product penetration to maximize the profitability of individual accounts.
- Reduces accounts receivable challenges by monitoring compliance with credit terms and addressing any issues promptly.
- Maintains awareness of pricing trends within the sales territory, particularly for market-driven and commodity products, to ensure competitive pricing.
- Performs additional related duties as assigned.
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required.
Minimum of 24 months of sales/marketing and/or restaurant experience.
Valid Driver's License required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Sales/Marketing, or a related field preferred.
3-5 years of experience in foodservice sales/marketing and/or restaurant operations preferred.
