Veterinary Clinical Lead, Surgery

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Veterinary Clinical Lead to oversee our Surgery department at Ethos Veterinary Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a team of RVTs and Veterinary Assistants, demonstrating solid veterinary clinical skills, and providing training and guidance to department staff.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a team of RVTs and Veterinary Assistants
- Demonstrate solid veterinary clinical skills and be a role model for the team
- Facilitate direct or indirect training to department staff. Provide routine assessment of skill level and knowledge
- Complete monthly schedule and ensure adequate coverage
- Manage department payroll and staffing costs, to include review and approval of timecards
- Deliver results in areas of staff development, best practices (SOPs), training, client satisfaction, and safety
- High school diploma
- 3+ years of clinical experience in the veterinary industry
- Consistent and reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices and estimates, and other position-related calculations
- Maintain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP); must obtain within 60-days of hire or transfer into this role; (this requirement is waived if incumbent holds a valid CA-RVT license)
- CA RVT license preferred but not required
- Experienced Veterinary Assistants with leadership skills who are also currently working towards obtaining credentials are encouraged to apply
- Flexible schedule required
