About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Veterinary Clinical Lead to oversee our Surgery department at Ethos Veterinary Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a team of veterinary technicians and assistants, ensuring the highest level of patient care and delivering exceptional results in areas of staff development, best practices, training, client satisfaction, and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of veterinary technicians and assistants, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Demonstrate solid veterinary clinical skills and serve as a role model for the team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Facilitate direct or indirect training to department staff, providing routine assessment of skill level and knowledge to ensure competence and confidence.
  • Complete monthly schedules and ensure adequate coverage, managing department payroll and staffing costs, including review and approval of timecards.
  • Deliver results in areas of staff development, best practices (SOPs), training, client satisfaction, and safety, driving continuous improvement and excellence in patient care.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of clinical experience in the veterinary industry, with a strong background in surgery and patient care.
  • Consistent and reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices, and estimates, and other position-related calculations.
  • Maintain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP); must obtain within 60 days of hire or transfer into this role (this requirement is waived if incumbent holds a valid CA-RVT license).
  • CA RVT license preferred but not required; experienced veterinary assistants with leadership skills who are also currently working towards obtaining credentials are encouraged to apply.
