GREATER PHILADELPHIA URBAN AFFAIRS is dedicated to enhancing the lives of families by providing essential resources and support to navigate child-serving systems effectively.

Role Summary

Reports to: Program Manager

Direct Reports: Family Peer Navigators

Status: Exempt; 35-hour workweek; may require evening and weekend hours.

The Community Engagement Supervisor will collaborate with the Program Manager to manage the operations of the Behavioral Health and Autism Spectrum Disorder Teams. This role involves working closely with community partners to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and programming. The Supervisor will oversee staff, coordinate referrals, and manage daily operations while serving as the primary liaison to external stakeholders.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong, effective relationships with the Program Manager, staff, and key community stakeholders.
  • Foster connections with community members, including families, youth, public entities, and various organizations.
  • Enhance the public image of all programs and represent the organization in committees and community meetings.
  • Exemplify and promote ethical and professional behavior within the organization and in external interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Duties

  • Participate in human resource processes:
    • Conduct orientation and training for new staff;
    • Monitor and support staff training and development.
  • Ensure compliance with contracts and quality standards:
    • Prepare necessary reports;
    • Maintain high-quality service delivery;
    • Ensure accurate data collection for reporting purposes.
  • Attend required meetings and community calls professionally.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Program and Staff Management:

  • Collaborate with the Program Manager to recruit and develop team members; conduct performance evaluations.
  • Address staff performance issues in conjunction with the Program Manager.
  • Provide ongoing supervision and mentoring to direct reports; facilitate monthly team meetings.
  • Conduct regular on-site visits to support staff and maintain relationships with external partners.
  • Track relevant data for operational insights and reporting.
  • Ensure efficient workflow and service delivery standards; manage caseloads and waiting lists as necessary.
  • Support staff training in program-related skills and ensure adherence to policies.
  • Communicate staff performance challenges and family situations to the Program Manager.
  • Oversee the organization of family support groups, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Assist in marketing strategies and community outreach efforts.
  • Promote a collaborative and trauma-informed work environment.
  • Engage in planning and implementing partnerships within the community.
  • Work directly with families as needed based on service demands.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Data Management:

  • Oversee data entry processes to ensure accurate participant information is recorded.
  • Ensure documentation of all services complies with agency policies.
  • Review staff documentation for quality assurance.
  • Monitor all service activities for compliance with best practices.

Qualifications:

Minimum Experience:

  • Personal experience as a parent or guardian of a child with mental health challenges.
  • At least three years of experience supporting families impacted by behavioral health or autism.
  • Two years of supervisory or training experience.
  • Completion of relevant training within three months of hire.
  • Knowledge of Philadelphia's child-serving systems and resources.
  • Experience with administrative tasks, including data tracking and documentation.
  • Clearances for Child Abuse, FBI Fingerprints, and Criminal Background.
  • Reliable transportation.

Preferred Experience:

  • Training in Systems of Care and trauma-informed practices.
  • Experience in child and family advocacy.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid billing processes.
  • Resident of Philadelphia County.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

  • Proficient in computer applications relevant to job functions.
  • Effective supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Flexibility and creativity in problem-solving.
