Compensation- Starting Wage: $20.50 per hour
- Full-time
- Part-time
- Hourly position
- 8-hour shifts
- Day, Mid, Swing, Night
- On Call
- Weekends and Holidays
- Overtime opportunities
- Monday through Sunday
- Preferred: 1 year in Direct Support Care
- Preferred: 1 year in Caregiving or Direct Patient Care
- Preferred: 1 year in Direct Care Work
- Preferred certifications: Nursing Assistant Registered (NAR), NAC, HCA, or Nurse Delegation
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Valid Driver's License or equivalent identification
- Successful background check
- High School Diploma, GED, or higher education
- TB Test clearance
- CPR/First Aid, BBP, HIV/AIDS certification (to be obtained within the first month of employment)
- Therapeutic Options Right Response training (to be obtained within the first month of employment)
- 1163 Certificate or Exemption Letter (preferred but not mandatory)
- Demonstrating reliability and effective time management
- Exhibiting strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Communicating effectively and following written and verbal instructions
- Providing companionship and attentive listening
- Monitoring and reporting changes in client health or status
- Assisting clients with meal preparation
- Maintaining health-related equipment
- Administering prescribed medications
- Facilitating community outings and recreational activities
- Supporting clients in hobbies, studies, social engagements, and personal care
- Ability to lift over 50 lbs
- Nursing
- Military service
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
- Nursing Assistant Certified (NAC)
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Home Care Aide (HCA)
- Nursing Assistant Registered (NAR)
The Support Specialist is tasked with a variety of duties that contribute to the overall well-being of individuals with developmental disabilities. This role is not just about assisting with daily tasks; it is about enabling individuals to lead fulfilling lives. The Support Specialist must adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by Excel Supported Living, Inc., as well as relevant regulations.
