Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Child Care Specialist to join our team at the City of Airway Heights. As a Child Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and supervision to children in our Child Watch program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Child Care and Supervision: Provide safe and engaging care to children in our Child Watch program, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Program Planning and Implementation: Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and programs for children, including arts and crafts, games, and educational activities.
  • Communication and Customer Service: Interact with parents and guardians in a professional and courteous manner, providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive experience for families.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of the Child Watch program.
  • Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate records and reports, and perform other administrative tasks as required.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Currently enrolled in high school or possess a high school diploma or G.E.D., with six months of previous experience working with children.
  • Certifications and Training: American Red Cross Babysitting Certificate, and ability to obtain Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and patience and compassion when working with children.
Work Environment

The Child Care Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with children, parents, and staff members. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
