We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Child Care Specialist to join our team at the City of Airway Heights. As a Child Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and supervision to children in our Child Watch program.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor the drop-off and pick-up of children to ensure their safety and well-being
- Provide basic child care services, including feeding, bathing, and soothing children
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities, such as games, arts and crafts, and educational programs
- Interact with children in a positive and engaging manner, creating a fun and safe environment
- Maintain a clean and sanitary environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations
- Coordinate with parents and guardians to ensure the needs of each child are met
- Attend regular staff meetings and participate in ongoing training and professional development
- Must be at least 16 years of age, with parent/guardian consent to work required if under 18
- Currently enrolled in high school or possess a high school diploma or G.E.D.
- Six months previous experience working with children, preferably in a childcare setting or teaching
- American Red Cross Babysitting Certificate
- Six months customer service experience
- Successfully complete a criminal history background check
- Must be able to obtain Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification prior to hiring
