Position Overview

- Financial assistance for teammates in times of need
- Report to the Administrator, Executive Director, or Patient Care Manager and operate under the guidance of the Registered Nurse or Clinical Supervisor.
- Assist patients in maintaining personal hygiene.
- Help ensure a safe and healthy living environment.
- Prepare and serve light meals.
- Support patients with feeding as necessary.
- Assist patients with mobility and ambulation.
- Guide the safe use of walkers or wheelchairs as instructed by nursing staff.
- Perform light housekeeping duties such as emptying trash and changing linens.
- Support specific treatments as outlined in the aide plan of care, adhering to state regulations.
- Encourage patient engagement in activities to promote mental alertness.
- Provide basic emotional and psychological support to patients and their families.
- Report any changes in the patient's condition or home environment to the Registered Nurse and interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate basic care techniques to primary caregivers.
- Implement infection control measures and standard precautions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of visit itineraries.
- Participate in staff meetings and quality improvement activities as assigned.
- Complete documentation promptly as per orientation guidelines.
Requirements for Hospice Aide/CNA:
- A compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
- Comfortable providing care in various home settings.
- Ability to remain flexible and composed in crisis situations.
- Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- At least six months of patient care experience in hospice, home health, ICU, geriatrics, or oncology preferred.
- Additional experience in hospital settings such as Med Surg, PACU, ER, critical care, or nursing homes is advantageous.
- Current driver's license and automobile insurance.
- Current CPR certification.
