Position Title: Cyber Applications Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Location: Various locations available

Relocation Assistance: Not available

Remote/Telework: Not applicable

Clearance Type: DoD Top Secret

Shift: Day shift (Monday to Friday)

Travel: Up to 10% required

Key Responsibilities:

The Cyber Applications Subject Matter Expert (SME) will play a vital role in supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. Responsibilities include:


• Crafting, developing, and deploying high-quality cybersecurity solutions.


• Implementing best practices and agile methodologies in cybersecurity development.


• Collaborating with clients to provide expert technical guidance and support.


• Operating with minimal supervision while managing complex, non-routine tasks and projects.


• Administering cybersecurity toolsets and server systems across various classification domains.


• Supporting both developmental and operational systems, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and troubleshooting issues across client, server, storage, and network devices.


• Engaging in systems engineering for Windows and Linux environments, including design, evaluation, and administration.


• Interacting with end-users and technical teams to identify and resolve intricate issues.


• Maintaining open and professional communication with clients, colleagues, and team members.


• Actively seeking opportunities for personal development and contributing to internal projects.


• Participating in project teams with both clients and colleagues.


• Committing to positively impacting client engagements.


• Mentoring junior System Engineers throughout project lifecycles.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:


• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage collaboratively with diverse audiences.


• A quick aptitude for grasping business concepts.


• A passion for continuous learning and knowledge sharing.


• A strong commitment to the success of the team and the mission.


• In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity technologies, including but not limited to Tanium, Trellix, Arcsight, Splunk, and network security tools.


• Familiarity with DoD Risk Management Framework and Software Assurance requirements.

Education and Experience:

This position requires one of the following combinations of education and experience:


• High School Diploma (or GED) with 16 years of general experience.


• Associate's degree with 14 years of general experience.


• Bachelor's degree with 12 years of general experience.


• Master's degree with 10 years of general experience.


• A minimum of 9 years of experience as a systems administrator.


• At least 3 years of experience in management or leadership roles.


• Experience with cybersecurity tools and cloud services.


• Active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to undergo a polygraph examination.


• Relevant certifications in Information Assurance and Cyber Security.

Desired Skills:


• Experience as a network administrator or systems engineer.


• Familiarity with various cybersecurity tools and scripting languages.


• Knowledge of technology stack layers and system/network diagram creation.
