Job Overview

Canvas Inc. is in search of a Cybersecurity Specialist to enhance the security measures within our organization. The selected individual will be responsible for providing expert guidance to management and technical teams in the formulation of security documentation that aligns with both new and existing regulations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing essential administrative tasks as required by the security lead, including documentation related to security access.
  • Conducting various security assessments, including:
    • Integrity evaluations of storage areas.
    • Regular inspections of secure facilities.
    • Monthly audits of security containers.
  • Managing security access protocols, including combination changes for secure storage and lab facilities.
  • Gathering and organizing monthly security documentation.
  • Creating and maintaining security logs as per established protocols.
  • Ensuring compliance with security checklists and documentation.
  • Maintaining and updating security policies and procedures.
  • Utilizing security management systems to process access requests.
  • Facilitating visitor management by maintaining accurate records.
  • Verifying security clearance statuses for personnel.
  • Implementing access control measures using electronic security systems, including:
    • Managing physical access for employees and visitors.
    • Generating reports to update access records.
    • Handling identification badges for outgoing personnel.
  • Processing requests for visitor access as needed.
  • Providing expert advice on the handling of classified materials.
  • Assisting with the management of classified documents.
  • Ensuring compliance with mail handling procedures for classified correspondence.
  • Supporting video teleconferencing setups for secure meetings.
  • Acting as a liaison for security-related inquiries and support for classified meetings.
  • Assisting with key management and access to secure areas.
  • Conducting end-of-day security checks and documentation.
  • Providing support to both government and contractor personnel regarding security matters.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Completing necessary training to fulfill job responsibilities.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field along with a minimum of 10 years of applicable experience is required.

Security Clearance:

The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; an active clearance is preferred.
