Position Title: Cyber Applications Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Key Responsibilities:

The Cyber Applications Subject Matter Expert (SME) plays a pivotal role in supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The responsibilities include:


• Designing, developing, and deploying high-quality cybersecurity solutions.


• Implementing best practices in technical agile methodologies when creating cyber solutions.


• Collaborating with clients to offer technical guidance and support.


• Working independently and in team settings on complex, non-routine tasks and projects.


• Administering cyber toolsets and server systems across various classification domains.


• Providing operational support, including monitoring and troubleshooting for all client, server, storage, and network devices.


• Supporting systems engineering efforts for both Windows and Linux environments.


• Engaging with end users and technical teams to resolve intricate issues.


• Maintaining open and professional communication with clients and team members.


• Actively seeking opportunities for personal development and contributing to internal projects.


• Leading and mentoring junior engineers throughout project phases.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:


• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.


• The ability to adapt communication styles based on the audience.


• A strong desire for continuous learning and knowledge sharing.


• A caring attitude towards work and collaboration.


• In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity technologies, including Tanium, Trellix, Arcsight, and network security tools.


• Familiarity with DoD Risk Management Framework and Software Assurance requirements.

Education and Experience:

This position requires a combination of education and experience:


• High School Diploma (or GED) with 16 years of general experience; or


• Associate's degree with 14 years of general experience; or


• Bachelor's degree with 12 years of general experience; or


• Master's degree with 10 years of general experience.


• Minimum of 9 years of experience as a systems administrator.


• At least 3 years in management or leadership roles.


• Experience with cybersecurity tools and cloud services.


• Active TS/SCI clearance is preferred.


• Relevant certifications in Information Assurance and Cyber Security are required.

Desired Skills:


• Experience in network administration or systems engineering.


• Proficiency in scripting and using various cybersecurity tools.


• Knowledge of technology stack layers and diagram creation.
