Your Role:

As a Category Leadership Manager on our Walmart sales team, you will enhance category MAPS for an assigned portfolio of brands. You will collaborate with the sales team to engage key customer decision-makers, presenting category development strategies while working alongside headquarters' Category Leadership, Business Development, and Business Planning teams to formulate comprehensive category plans. Your responsibilities will include developing new item presentations and optimizing product shelving to be category-friendly. Furthermore, you will identify opportunities to strengthen competitive advantages and elevate Conagra Brands' presence with customers. You will report directly to a Vice President of Category Leadership.

Your Contributions:

  • Manage customer interactions at the category level, focusing on enhancing both customer and company sales/profits.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, insights, retail effectiveness, and other category leadership resources to execute category initiatives.
  • Become proficient in Category Leadership tools and capabilities.
  • Utilize customer loyalty card data effectively.
  • Lead category strategy and review meetings with customers; support brand-based Category Leadership programs.
  • Create tools to identify new category opportunities.
  • Recognize opportunity gaps and develop compelling cases and sales narratives to address them.
  • Provide consumer/category insights during customer joint business planning (JBP) to refine plan elements based on consumer and category knowledge.
  • Enhance field sales capabilities to leverage insights.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitive activities to uncover opportunities for improving market capabilities/advantages.
  • Optimize shelf positioning for brands while maintaining a shopper/category-first approach.

Your Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience in category management within the CPG industry, particularly in sales or a combination of sales and syndicated data experience (IRI/Circana, Nielsen).
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in data integration and interpretation.
  • Project management expertise.
  • Ability to adapt across multiple workstreams.

Work Environment:

This position allows for a hybrid work model, with a requirement of 3 days in the office.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is available for this role, with preference given to local candidates.
