Position Summary:

The Customer Sales Lead for Walmart Perimeter & eCommerce is tasked with developing and executing joint business strategies across online and perimeter channels to enhance volume, profitability, and market share for the entire Campbell's Snacks portfolio.

This role involves actively managing and assessing Campbell's total portfolio, crafting, reviewing, and refining business plans to achieve all sales targets.

Moreover, the Customer Sales Lead will establish business and sales priorities, strategies, and objectives to ensure the successful execution of Campbell's Walmart annual operating plan (AOP).

Collaboration with Campbell's Customer Team Leads and key retailer decision-makers is essential to enhance our eCommerce presence through industry insights and relationship-building with critical stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize the Campbell's Sales Planning & Customer Investment system to formulate optimal customer strategies that drive the Campbell's portfolio.
  • Design and implement promotional strategies and tactical plans with customers, focusing on executing high ROI initiatives to scale Campbell's offerings.
  • Continuously monitor and update the customer's comprehensive business plan, including budget management, spending, and volume, to meet all sales objectives.
  • Employ shopper and category management techniques to connect consumer and shopper trends with opportunities. Leverage Shopper Insights and Category Management resources effectively.
  • Collaborate with customer marketing resources to create and execute joint marketing initiatives aligned with brand and customer strategies.
  • Conduct post-event analyses to assess promotional volume, consumption, profitability, and spending outcomes against plans, utilizing insights to optimize future promotional efforts.
  • Facilitate category business reviews to evaluate business performance, consumer trends, key drivers, and incremental opportunities.
  • Implement Campbell's brand strategies by working closely with key decision-makers within the customer's organization, including buyers and category managers.
  • Promote new product introductions to customers and collaborate with key personnel to secure optimal distribution.
  • Identify and communicate profitable opportunities for incremental volume growth.
  • Stay informed on current trends, results, and industry-wide initiatives.

Job Complexity:

The role requires the ability to evaluate a customer's competitive landscape, behaviors, and strategies, aligning them with Campbell's strategic objectives to formulate an effective customer investment strategy (including trade, customer marketing, and integrated marketing) that supports revenue, profit, and market share growth.

Building productive relationships with key decision-makers at various levels within the customer's organization is crucial.

This position necessitates cross-functional collaboration within the customer team (e.g., Finance, Category Management, Customer Marketing) and with personnel from the World Headquarters (e.g., Marketing Activation, Joint Business Planning, Brand Management), depending on the size, complexity, and strategic significance of the customer.

A strong understanding of e-commerce is essential to identify business trends in the online channel across all customer types and leverage digital capabilities effectively.

The Customer Sales Lead will oversee performance across all categories within the Campbell portfolio in the e-commerce space, requiring a solid grasp of total P&L management.

Strong customer, channel, and partner prospecting skills are necessary, along with analytical capabilities to determine optimal activation through test-and-learn models.


Technical Skills:

Experience with Walmart and/or other eCommerce and Omni-channel retailers is preferred. Familiarity with Syndicated Data (IRI or AC Nielsen, retailer loyalty card, retailer POS) is advantageous. Proficiency in computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and experience with internal systems for data collection and analysis are required.

  • Proven leadership abilities, characterized by high energy and a consistent track record of delivering results.
  • Ability to work independently while also thriving in a team environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal and customer relationship skills.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and verbal & written communication skills are essential.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to create and deliver compelling professional presentations.
  • Capacity to balance and prioritize requests from multiple stakeholders.
  • Quick learner, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Capability to plan, schedule, prioritize projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain operations is preferred.
  • Financial acumen and trade management experience are advantageous.
  • Category and brand knowledge is beneficial.

Education & Experience:

A Bachelor's degree is required, along with 5-7+ years of relevant sales experience.


Compensation and Benefits:

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between $85,900 and $140,800. Individual base pay is determined by work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total compensation may include other forms of remuneration. Additionally, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k, and wellness benefits starting on the first day of employment.
