City Cruises is in search of skilled Cooks for our San Diego operations.

About the Opportunity:

This role primarily involves catering for banquets featuring a diverse array of menus, ranging from festive casual to California classic. Ideal candidates will exhibit meticulous attention to detail in a dynamic work environment. A flexible schedule is essential.

About You:

The successful applicant will consistently deliver high-quality products while ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction. A friendly and supportive demeanor, coupled with excellent teamwork skills, is crucial. Adherence to all company policies and strict safety protocols is expected. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, energetic, and embody the RESPECT Service System of City Experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook meals aboard yachts or in our preparation kitchen for events.
  • Load and unload food and supplies onto vessels as necessary.
  • Assist in cleaning and breaking down the galley at the end of each shift.
  • Collaborate with the Vessel operations crew and front-of-house team to ensure complete guest satisfaction.
  • Learn all safety and security responsibilities required for the position.
  • Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays is essential.
  • Maintain strict adherence to food production guidelines and handling protocols.
  • Keep open lines of communication with onboard management.
  • Address any guest service food requests as needed.
  • Quickly adapt to changes in function timelines and preparations for successful event execution.
  • Support front-of-house staff with all related functions.
  • Report any equipment issues to your direct supervisor.
  • Arrive on time and follow management instructions diligently.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 6 months of kitchen experience, including preparation work, line cooking, and knowledge of health and sanitation regulations.
  • California Food Handler's card required within 30 days of employment.
  • TWIC and MMC Card required within 30 days of employment.
  • Valid Driver's license is a plus.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
