Responsibilities

The Culinary Specialist is accountable for the preparation and cooking of meals within the community. This role guarantees that all dishes are crafted and presented in alignment with Coterie’s high standards.

  • Deliver exceptional culinary customer service consistently.
  • Collaborate closely with the Chef de Cuisine to ensure resident satisfaction with food and dining experiences.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in kitchen and food storage areas at all times.
  • Oversee the opening and/or closing procedures of the kitchen.
  • Follow assigned cleaning schedules diligently.
  • Ensure all food is received, stored, and prepared according to company protocols.
  • Assess daily or weekly food and supply needs and communicate these to the Chef de Cuisine.
  • Engage in the preparation and cooking of meals following established recipes and approved menus.
  • Document food temperatures prior to service, as well as refrigeration and freezer temperatures.
  • Ensure that snacks and beverages are readily available for residents.
  • Keep kitchen floors clean through regular sweeping and mopping, and manage waste disposal.
  • Assist with the transportation and storage of food and supplies.
  • Adhere to Quality Enhancement standards and food safety practices.
  • Support the preparation and execution of special events, banquets, and themed meals.
  • Participate in pre-meal briefings in the kitchen prior to service.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience as a cook in a hospitality or healthcare setting.
  • Food handler's permit as mandated by state law and/or company standards.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow recipes, production guides, cleaning schedules, and logs.
