About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Banquet Chef to join our team at Marriott International Inc. As a key member of our culinary operations, you will be responsible for leading the banquet food preparation staff and managing all food-related catering functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Culinary Operations
    • Develop and implement menus, purchasing, and food preparation strategies to ensure high-quality products and presentations.
    • Lead daily Banquet Event meetings to review culinary requirements and ensure seamless execution.
    • Conduct quality control checks on raw and cooked food products to maintain standards.
    • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new applications, ideas, and relationships that enhance the guest experience.
    • Ensure compliance with all Food & Beverage policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Team Management
    • Communicate production needs to key personnel and ensure clear performance expectations.
    • Lead by example, demonstrating a positive and inclusive work environment that fosters mutual respect and trust among team members.
    • Identify developmental needs and provide coaching, mentoring, or training to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
    • Supervise and manage employees, ensuring they understand expectations and parameters.
    • Participate in training staff on menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, and unique tastes.
  • Guest Experience
    • Empower employees to provide exceptional customer service, ensuring guests receive a personalized and memorable experience.
    • Improve service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand guest needs, providing guidance, feedback, and individual coaching when needed.
    • Respond effectively to guest problems and complaints, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and professionally.
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
    • Attend and participate in all pertinent meetings, ensuring open communication and collaboration among team members.
    Requirements
    • High school diploma or GED; 4 years of experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
    • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 2 years of experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
    What We Offer

Marriott International Inc. offers a competitive salary range of $93,000 to $112,000 annually, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including a bonus program, health care benefits, 401(k) plan with up to 5% company match, and more.
