Assistant Chief Policy Officer for Education and Global Relations

Position Overview:
As the Deputy Chief Policy Officer for Education and International Engagement, you will play a pivotal role in leading transformative initiatives within the organization. This position is designed for a dynamic leader who is committed to fostering innovation and change.
Key Responsibilities:
In this capacity, you will:
- Supervise the Directors of the Attaché Program and the Global Intellectual Property Academy (GIPA), as well as the Administrative Team and the Planning, Performance Reporting, and Communications Branch.
- Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the GIPA Director in managing GIPA's educational activities.
- Oversee the IP Attaché Program, including the selection, training, and deployment of IP Attachés.
- Support the Marian Rogers Croak Visiting Scholars Program in areas related to intellectual property, innovation, and economics.
- Represent the Office of Policy and International Affairs (OPIA) in budgetary discussions and procurement matters.
- Analyze various program activities related to GIPA's educational and training initiatives.
- Develop tools and metrics to inform management about project status and achievement of objectives.
- Establish administrative policies for the Office of Policy and International Affairs.

- Providing leadership in managing human, financial, and technological resources to ensure program objectives are met.
- Delivering support services across various functions including human capital management, budget and finance, procurement, and training programs.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. and international intellectual property legal frameworks.
- Experience in managing international initiatives, particularly in intellectual property training.
- Ability to formulate and implement organizational policies and procedures.
- Experience in overseeing complex human resource matters, including financial management and employee development.
Education:
While there is no formal education requirement, a law degree from an accredited institution and membership in a bar association is preferred.
Mobility:
Organizational and geographical mobility is essential for career advancement within the Senior Executive Service.
This position is classified as a Public Trust role with a high-risk designation, requiring a background investigation and the ability to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance.
