The Scholarship Fund of Alexandria (SFA) is in search of a dynamic and passionate individual dedicated to advancing SFA's mission as a Chief Operations Officer. This full-time, year-round role offers a unique opportunity to engage in a small, innovative, mission-driven nonprofit organization. A collaborative spirit and a proactive mindset are essential. The ideal candidate will be motivated to support the organization’s efforts in assisting students with postsecondary scholarships and providing college and financial aid guidance.

To facilitate our growth and success, we are looking for an experienced Chief Operations Officer to join our skilled team. The successful candidate will possess management experience in a vibrant environment. This position demands exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership capabilities, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced yet close-knit workplace. The Chief Operations Officer will report directly to the Executive Director and collaborate closely with the entire team on-site.

Key Objectives:

· Assist the Executive Director in achieving organizational goals and ensuring the smooth operation of SFA throughout the year.

· Collaborate with the SFA team to develop student support initiatives, fundraising objectives, and long-term operational strategies.

· Enhance efficiency and productivity through process evaluation and team collaboration.

· Establish strategic goals aimed at operational effectiveness and increased productivity.

· Assess current operational practices and performance, proposing improvements where necessary.

Main Responsibilities:

· Design, implement, and oversee daily operational systems and processes to provide transparency into the objectives, progress, and challenges of key initiatives.

· Supervise procedures and maintain quality control for SFA's database, ensuring accurate tracking of donors, students, and other critical information for financial and program evaluations. Generate necessary reports for assessments.

· Support the Executive Director and Board of Trustees in organizing and executing successful fundraising and community engagement events.

· Leverage relationships with partners, donors, and vendors to inform decisions regarding operational activities and strategic objectives.

· Plan, monitor, and evaluate key metrics for daily operations to ensure timely and efficient task completion.

· Develop strategies for growth and implement process enhancements.

· Adhere to policies and standards, ensuring compliance at all levels.

· Collaborate closely with the Executive Director to lead the team with integrity, fostering a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment.

· Additional duties as assigned: Assist the SFA Board, the Executive Director, and partners to promote the mission and objectives of the Scholarship Fund of Alexandria within the community.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

· Strong interpersonal abilities.

· Comprehensive knowledge of various operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service, production, and employee management.

· Proven capability to plan and manage operational processes for optimal efficiency and productivity.

· Ability to streamline or establish structures and roles that enhance efficiency and accuracy while adapting to rapidly changing business demands.

· Excellent organizational skills, including the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and balance competing priorities.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

· Experience in event planning is advantageous.

· Previous nonprofit experience is preferred.

· Proficient in operations management and capable of assuming delegated responsibilities.

· Strong leadership and critical thinking skills.

· Excellent interpersonal skills, with experience working with diverse populations.

· Ability to work independently.

· Solid knowledge of data analysis, Microsoft Office Suite, and CRM software.
