Position: Budget Analyst

Salary: $115,094.00

The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) is dedicated to enhancing the financial integrity and accountability of the Government of the District of Columbia. We are currently seeking a Budget Analyst to join our team. This role is situated within the Office of Government Operations Services (GOC), specifically in the Department of Employment Services (DOES). The selected candidate will be tasked with the formulation, justification, monitoring, and enhancement of budgetary processes within their designated agency's department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the precision of budget requests through validation, conducting specialized analyses, and offering insightful recommendations along with accurate budget forecasts.
  • Collaborate with program managers and financial staff to guarantee that the budgets of assigned program operations are utilized effectively to meet established objectives.
  • Maintain ongoing oversight of the program's use of authorized funds; create guidance and tools to bolster the department's capacity for sound budget formulation, execution, and planning.
  • Evaluate the implications of modified budget execution policies and timelines, providing strategic advice to program management regarding fund status and associated issues.
  • Perform additional related tasks as required.
Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of two (2) years of progressive experience in roles related to budget formulation, justification, monitoring, coordination, and approval; as well as in preparing reports, analyses, and justifications concerning funding matters.
