As the Deputy Chief Policy Officer for Creative Works and Global Outreach, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and guiding innovative policies that impact the realm of intellectual property on a global scale.
Key Responsibilities
In this influential position, you will:
- Lead the development of legal policy proposals and create essential documentation to support the implementation of various programs and policies.
- Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of legal proposals related to intellectual property matters.
- Evaluate public perspectives on intellectual property policy issues through diverse channels, including public hearings and stakeholder consultations.
- Champion the international advancement of intellectual property systems, advocating for enhanced and cost-effective methods to protect the rights of U.S. nationals worldwide.
- Oversee the establishment and maintenance of multilateral systems for intellectual property rights protection, collaborating with organizations such as the World Intellectual Property Organization.
Collaboration and Support
You will work closely with fellow Deputy Chief Policy Officers to ensure cohesive implementation of Administration policies across various teams. Additionally, you will assist in defining policy priorities for the USPTO and the Administration, particularly in providing technical assistance to developing nations.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- U.S. Citizenship or National status.
- A law degree from an accredited institution and membership in a bar in good standing.
- Demonstrated expertise in U.S. and international intellectual property legal frameworks.
- Experience in international trade and intellectual property treaties.
- Proven track record in program management and resource allocation.
Executive Core Qualifications
Applicants must provide narrative statements addressing the Executive Core Qualifications, showcasing their ability to lead change, manage teams, drive results, and build coalitions effectively.
Mobility and Additional Information
Mobility is essential for career advancement within the SES. Selected candidates may be reassigned as necessary. This position is classified as a Public Trust role with a high-risk designation.
