Position Overview

The Texas Department of Public Safety is seeking dedicated individuals for the Advanced Peace Officer Training Program. This intensive training initiative is designed for those committed to serving in protective services.

Location

The training will take place at the Austin Headquarters, where recruits will undergo a comprehensive curriculum aimed at enhancing their skills and knowledge in law enforcement.

Employment Status

This is a full-time position with a standard work schedule of 50 hours per week. Candidates should be prepared for travel commitments as part of their duties.

Compensation

The monthly salary for this position is $5,872.97, equating to an annual salary of $70,475.63. Upon successful completion of the training program, candidates will transition to a probationary officer role with a higher salary.

Program Details

The Advanced Peace Officer Training Program spans 14 weeks, commencing with a rigorous physical fitness regimen. Participants will be required to live on-site during this period, which may include weekend training sessions.

Qualifications

To qualify for this program, candidates must have served honorably as a full-time peace officer or federal law enforcement officer within the specified timeframe. Additionally, candidates must meet physical fitness standards and pass various assessments throughout the training.
