Key Responsibilities:

The Advanced ECMO Program Coordinator will oversee the development and execution of essential policies and procedures, ensuring the highest standards of education and quality assurance for our ECMO program. Responsibilities include:

  • Formulating and implementing ECMO protocols and guidelines.
  • Training staff on the latest ECMO care standards and ensuring ongoing education for competency.
  • Supervising ECMO personnel to uphold proper care standards.
  • Meeting ELSO documentation and reporting requirements.
  • Maintaining equipment functionality and managing supply levels.
  • Providing backup support to the ECMO Specialist/Primer as necessary.
  • Assisting in initial priming, circuit changes, and therapy discontinuation for ECMO patients.
  • Ensuring safe and effective setup of ECMO equipment and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Maintaining expertise in pump technology.
  • Engaging in direct patient care with a focus on clinical responsibilities.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in a healthcare-related field is preferred.
  • Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is a plus.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in ECMO.
