Senior Associate, Grants Management

Position Overview:
The Experienced Senior Associate role in Grants Management at BDO focuses on providing comprehensive support to clients in the realm of grant administration. This position entails overseeing various facets of both public and private funding agreements, crafting policies and procedures, and pinpointing technological solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee grant accounting for client projects
- Ensure adherence to funding agency regulations
- Evaluate budget discrepancies and variances
- Prepare accounting entries and manage salary distributions
- Assist in audits related to government contracts
- Maintain records of contracts and grant communications
- Mentor junior team members and coordinate project deliverables
- Comprehend internal controls associated with grant funding
- Perform additional tasks as necessary
Required Qualifications:
Educational Background
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance
Professional Experience
- A minimum of five years of experience in Nonprofit financial management
- Familiarity with cost allocation methods
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Experience with Intacct (Sage) software
Additional Skills and Competencies
- In-depth understanding of government grant regulations
- Familiarity with NYC contracts and grant management systems
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively
- Strong communication and presentation abilities
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Capability to juggle multiple projects effectively
- Willingness to travel as required
