Position Overview

VIA AUTO FINANCE LLC is experiencing growth and is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Business Development Manager. This position is essential for fostering and enhancing our business relationships within the automotive finance sector.

Role Summary:

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is pivotal in propelling our business's expansion. BDMs are tasked with championing VIA AUTO FINANCE as the preferred lender while offering comprehensive support to our dealership partners in securing financing for their customers. This role necessitates regular travel within the designated territories.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Forge, cultivate, and sustain positive business relationships with both independent and franchise car dealerships within a specified market.
  • Promote the sale of the Company's diverse offerings (including GAP insurance, Collateral Protection insurance, Warranties, GPS installation services, etc.) by enlightening dealerships on their benefits and features.
  • Enhance sales performance through detailed cost-benefit analyses and needs assessments for dealer clients, showcasing solutions that leverage the Company's products and services.
  • Implement creative sales and merchandising strategies to meet sales targets and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Generate and pursue sales leads and establish new dealership partnerships through various outreach methods including cold calling, business directories, referrals, and field visits.
  • Devise and execute marketing strategies to effectively compete with other providers of similar products and services.
  • Achieve or surpass established sales quotas while maintaining acceptable delinquency and loss levels on the portfolio.
  • Collaborate with the internal underwriting team as needed to optimize sales and deal flow.
  • Educate dealerships on the required applicant standards such as credit quality and employment stability, ensuring all necessary documentation is submitted.
  • Facilitate the submission of appropriate applications to VIA.
  • Capture and manage approved and conditioned applications.
  • Review and provide guidance to dealers on declines and auto declines.
  • Participate in meetings, sales events, and training seminars to stay informed about the latest industry trends.
  • Travel extensively within the assigned geographical area.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 4 years of relevant business development experience in the industry.
  • A solid background in outside sales.
  • Proven familiarity with various sales techniques and pipeline management.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to multiple sales locations and strategically plan sales efforts for the assigned region.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to persuade and influence others.
  • Professional, tactful, and sensitive interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with Dealertrack, RouteOne, and LOS systems such as DEFI is advantageous.
