Position Summary:

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is essential in promoting VIA AUTO FINANCE as the preferred lender and providing vital support to our dealer partners in securing financing for their customers. This role requires extensive travel within the designated regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and sustain positive business relationships with both independent and franchise car dealerships in the assigned market.
  • Promote the Company's suite of products and services, including GAP insurance, Collateral Protection insurance, Warranties, and GPS installation services, by educating dealerships on their benefits.
  • Enhance sales through detailed cost-benefit analyses and needs assessments for dealer clients, showcasing solutions that leverage the Company's offerings.
  • Implement innovative sales strategies and merchandising initiatives to meet sales targets and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Generate and pursue new sales leads and dealership partnerships through various outreach methods, including cold calling and field visits.
  • Develop and execute competitive marketing strategies to differentiate from other providers of similar products and services.
  • Achieve or surpass established sales targets while managing delinquency and loss levels within acceptable limits.
  • Collaborate with the internal underwriting team to optimize sales and deal flow.
  • Educate dealerships on applicant standards, ensuring all necessary documentation is submitted.
  • Facilitate the submission of qualified applications to VIA.
  • Review and provide feedback on declined applications.
  • Participate in meetings, sales events, and training sessions to stay updated on industry trends.
  • Travel extensively within the assigned geographic area.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in business development within the industry.
  • Proven track record in outside sales.
  • Familiarity with various sales techniques and effective pipeline management.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to multiple sales locations and develop strategic sales plans.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence others.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to interact tactfully and sensitively with clients.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment, working independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with Dealertrack, RouteOne, and LOS systems such as DEFI is advantageous.
