Step into a pivotal role and assist us in achieving new milestones as our Director of Business Development.

Key Responsibilities

The Director of Business Development will be tasked with proactive sales initiatives, lead generation, and the acquisition of new third-party hotel management agreements. This role will focus on engaging existing hotel owners and new developers primarily in California through strategic selling, thorough research, and networking with hotel brokers and national hotel brands (e.g., Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Hyatt, and Starwood).

A key measure of success in this position will be the achievement of lead generation targets and growth objectives, alongside the establishment of sustainable long-term revenue streams. This role demands a high level of energy, attention to detail, strong organizational capabilities, creativity, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Generate leads and cultivate new third-party hotel management contracts to increase the portfolio of hotels managed by DKN Hotel Group.

• Develop and maintain strong strategic partnerships that align with DKN's culture and values.

• Solicit and secure management contracts from individual owners and institutions.

• Formulate and execute business and action plans.

• Collaborate with PR initiatives and strategic partnerships to enhance DKN Hotel Group's visibility as a premier hotel management entity.

• Build and nurture trusted relationships with hotel owners, franchisors, investors, and real estate brokers.

• Assist in the preparation of pro-forma spreadsheets and business plans.

• Gain the confidence and trust of potential clients by being attuned to their needs and customizing approaches to secure long-term contracts and partnerships.

• Close business by effectively communicating value propositions and ensuring alignment with DKN's culture and values.

• Attend industry events, conferences, and key meetings to foster relationships and generate new business opportunities.

• Collaborate closely with the Marketing Team to enhance DKN's partnerships and customer base.

• Develop actionable plans that align with financial objectives.

• Create innovative deliverables and closing tools to enhance productivity.

• Acquire knowledge about relevant communities to be considered for potential hotel deals and real estate opportunities.

• Exhibit resourcefulness and creativity in sourcing new opportunities.

• Analyze and research business growth opportunities from existing clients and competitors for targeted outreach.

• Ensure timely correspondence that reflects the professionalism of the DKN brand.

• Apply sound judgment in evaluating risks and rewards of new business opportunities while understanding operational impacts.

• Demonstrate exceptional communication and negotiation skills, deploying strong interpersonal abilities.

• Embrace and embody the DKN Hotel Group culture, vision, and values.

• Develop quarterly action plans approved by the CEO that align with financial, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction goals.

Qualifications

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in hospitality sales and marketing, preferably in a hotel brokerage context.
  • Understanding of agency structures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a positive outlook.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Publisher, Photoshop, and other relevant software.
Skills/Abilities/Other Requirements:
  • Critical thinking with the ability to articulate a clear point of view that influences stakeholders.
  • Strong collaborative partnerships within marketing and cross-functional teams.
  • Preferred knowledge and network within the hospitality/hotel brokerage industry.
