Field Technician for Solids Control Operations

Position Overview

Stage 3 Separation is a leader in providing top-tier solids control solutions tailored for mud systems, aimed at effectively managing solids while minimizing costs for our clients. Our commitment extends beyond equipment; we leverage a skilled team of Field Technicians, supervisors, engineers, and scientists to deliver informed recommendations that enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

As a Field Technician, you will operate under the guidance of Field Leaders, taking charge of mechanical processes that enhance drilling operations and facilitate the recycling of drilling fluids through advanced closed-loop systems. Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided on our specialized equipment. This role involves working 12-hour shifts on a rotational schedule at various drilling sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with company standards and policies in equipment operation
  • Maintain and operate solids control machinery, including centrifuges, shakers, and pumps
  • Conduct operations safely and efficiently
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions
  • Monitor and control process levels, mud weights, pressures, and flows
  • Accurately collect and document critical data for daily reporting
  • Participate in safety meetings and adhere to safe work practices
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Set up and dismantle equipment at rig locations
  • Operate heavy machinery to manage drilled cuttings

Qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Effective organizational skills
  • Reliability and accountability in job performance
  • Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Flexibility to travel to remote locations across the United States
  • Proficient communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Reliable transportation for commuting to job sites
  • Physical capability to lift 50-75 pounds and navigate various terrains
  • Adaptability to work in diverse weather conditions

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation necessary
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Successful completion of pre-employment testing, including background and drug screening
  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus
