Job Overview

Stage 3 Separation is a leader in providing high-quality solids control solutions tailored for mud systems. Our mission is to effectively manage solids, minimize costs for our clients, and offer limited or zero discharge options when necessary. Our dedicated team of Solids Control Field Technicians, field supervisors, engineers, and scientists work collaboratively to deliver informed recommendations that enhance job efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

As a Solids Control Technician, you will operate under the guidance of Field Leaders, taking charge of mechanical processes that optimize drilling operations and facilitate the recycling of drilling fluids through advanced closed-loop systems. You will receive comprehensive on-the-job training on a variety of specialized equipment from Stage 3. The role involves working 12-hour shifts on a rotational schedule at various drilling rig locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with company standards and operational policies for all equipment and systems.
  • Maintain and operate solids control machinery, including centrifuges, shakers, pumps, and more.
  • Safely and efficiently operate all equipment and systems.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on mechanical equipment as necessary.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment failures promptly.
  • Monitor and control process levels, mud weights, pressures, and flows.
  • Accurately collect and document all required data for daily reports.
  • Participate in safety meetings and adhere to safe work practices.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Set up and dismantle equipment at rig sites.
  • Operate heavy machinery such as front loaders and forklifts for moving materials.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and reliability.
  • Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to travel to remote locations across the United States.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Physical capability to lift 50-75 pounds and work in various weather conditions.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment testing, including background and drug tests.
  • Spanish language skills are preferred.
