Field Technician for Solids Management

Stage 3 Separation is a leader in providing high-quality solids control solutions tailored for mud systems, effectively managing solids to minimize costs for our clients while ensuring limited or zero discharge options when necessary. Our dedicated team of Field Technicians, field supervisors, engineers, and scientists work collaboratively to deliver informed recommendations aimed at optimizing operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Reporting to the Field Leader(s), the Solids Control Technician plays a crucial role in managing mechanical processes that enhance drilling operations and facilitate the recycling of drilling fluids through various mud systems. Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided on our specialized equipment. Technicians will work in 12-hour shifts on a rotational schedule at multiple drilling rig locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with company standards and policies in equipment and system operations.
- Operate and maintain solids control equipment, including centrifuges, shakers, pumps, and more.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment.
- Monitor and control process parameters such as mud weights, pressures, and flows.
- Accurately document and report critical data for daily operations.
- Participate in safety meetings and uphold safe work practices.
- Set up and dismantle equipment at rig sites.
- Operate heavy machinery, including front loaders and forklifts, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and reliability.
- Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Capability to travel to remote locations across the United States.
- Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Physical ability to lift 50-75 pounds and work in various weather conditions.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Successful completion of pre-employment testing.
- Spanish language skills are a plus.
