Job Description

At Tait & Associates, Inc., we are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Project Manager to lead our Land Development and Public Works projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Lead project teams, provide technical guidance, and set clear objectives to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Client Relationships: Maintain strong client relationships, ensuring accountability and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate with consultants, design teams, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and timely delivery.
  • Financial Management: Manage budgets, control costs, and handle contract changes to ensure projects are delivered within budget.
  • Business Development: Support business development by preparing proposals and qualifications to secure new projects and clients.
  • Team Management: Develop and manage staff, defining roles and responsibilities to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Prepare engineering reports and ensure regulatory compliance to meet project requirements.
  • Technical Expertise: Conduct calculations, cost estimates, and develop work plans to ensure projects are delivered to the highest technical standards.
  • Client Management: Coordinate client management and marketing efforts to ensure effective communication and project delivery.
  • Presentations and Reporting: Prepare presentations, conduct site visits, and document findings to ensure effective project communication and delivery.
  • Hydrology and Hydraulic Analysis: Oversee hydrology, hydraulic, and flood analysis to ensure projects meet regulatory requirements.
  • Construction Alternatives: Propose construction alternatives and maintain regulatory knowledge to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and effectively.
  • Scheduling and Progress Tracking: Develop schedules, track progress, and meet deadlines to ensure projects are delivered on time.
  • Team Collaboration: Coordinate with departments, consultants, and agencies, and lead project meetings to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Engineering Design Standards: Develop and uphold engineering design standards and guidelines to ensure projects are delivered to the highest technical standards.
Requirements
  • Professional Experience: 10+ years of experience in Land Development and/or Public Works projects.
  • Licensure: Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of California.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil3D, skilled in producing accurate construction plans and reports, and able to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Experienced in client interaction, leading diverse staff, and strong verbal and written communication skills for clear, concise engineering information.
  • Problem-Solving and Deadline Management: Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and deadline management skills, capable of training staff and ensuring quality.
  • Organizational and Attention to Detail: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and ready to take on additional responsibilities.
  • Client Relationship Building: Proactively communicate and build strong client relationships.
  • Troubleshooting and Solution Implementation: Troubleshoot and implement solutions effectively, with thorough documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of pertinent experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
  • Attention to Detail and Organizational Skills: High attention to detail and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Travel and Mobility: Drive to job sites, client meetings, or city offices for plan submittals, walk job site locations when needed, and occasionally carry, lift, push, pull plans ranging from 1-20lbs.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary range $130,000/yr - $150,000/yr
