Job Summary

The Senior Engineering Project Manager is responsible for managing facility and process-related projects to add, alter, or construct new equipment and/or facilities related to chemical process needs. This role performs engineering design evaluations and works to complete projects within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develops plans and specifications for the renovation or construction of new facilities, reviews plans and specifications for accuracy and completeness.
  • Works interdepartmentally in the conceptual development, estimating, and final design efforts.
  • Maintains contact with inter-organizational and external representatives and provides briefings concerning specific and/or organizational projects or operations.
  • Develops standard computerized specifications.
  • Monitors project status and ensures that contractual requirements are met.
  • Prepares appropriate records to accurately reflect the status and cost of projects from inception through completion.
  • Provides coordination of all functions required for assigned projects.
  • May direct projects of moderate scope and complexity, including facility design and construction, office and plant layout, equipment, and furniture relocation.
  • May coordinate the preparation of technical documents with other engineering disciplines.
  • May have budget and schedule responsibility for projects.
  • May perform simple field construction inspections.
  • May assign work to and direct less senior employees as appropriate and required.
Requirements
  • Typically requires 5-8 years of related experience and a bachelor's degree or 3-6 years of related experience and a master's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Required Bachelor's degree
Competencies and Skills
  • Auto Cad LT or better, MS Project preferred, PMP desired, cGMP
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Team-oriented
  • Strong attention to detail
