Position Overview
The Civil Engineering Project Manager will oversee a dedicated team of professionals, bringing our clients' visions to life. This multifaceted role encompasses client engagement, civil design, and team leadership. Responsibilities include managing projects, preparing engineering documentation, and developing plans, specifications, and cost estimates for diverse clients and initiatives. The Project Manager will also play a key role in business development efforts. We empower our project managers with the autonomy and resources necessary to successfully lead and manage projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director in marketing and client relationship development for the division.
  • Manage a variety of civil engineering projects, including public works and private land development.
  • Monitor project scope, budgets, and timelines to ensure contract compliance and profitability.
  • Identify design requirements and oversee efficient design and documentation processes.
  • Resolve design challenges through engineering calculations and adherence to established design standards.
  • Establish project controls to ensure accuracy and quality in deliverables.
  • Ensure technical excellence, profitability, schedule adherence, team coordination, and client communication.
  • Lead project tracking and pursue new project opportunities.
  • Engage with clients daily, develop proposals, negotiate project scopes and fees, and manage billing and change orders.
  • Supervise project staff, including design engineers and CAD operators, while mentoring junior team members in engineering practices.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in civil engineering.
  • 5+ years in a project management capacity.
  • Current Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in California is required.
Preferred Skills and Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience in public works project management is advantageous.
  • Land development experience is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Strong design capabilities in public works and land development, including grading, drainage, streets, sewers, storm drains, and utilities.
  • Ability to apply civil engineering principles in a service-oriented business environment.
  • Expertise in preparing grading plans, utility plans, site plans, and cost estimates.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a desire to excel in a high-visibility role.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is essential.
Physical Requirements
  • Attend client meetings at various locations as required.
  • Ability to drive to project sites.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 per year.
